Municipal Elections – November 2019

Last Day to Register to Vote: Monday, October 7, 2019

First Day of Early Voting: Monday, October 21, 2019

Last Day to Apply for a Ballot by Mail (request must be received, not merely postmarked ): Friday, October 25, 2019

Last Day of Early Voting: Friday, November 1, 2019

Deadline for Ballot by Mail to be Received: Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. (unless overseas deadline applies)

Primary Elections – March 2020

Our office will be open to receive filings Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the Filing Period (November 9, 2019 – December 9, 2019) with the following additions/exceptions:

  • Saturday November 9th 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    • Chairman James Dickey will NOT be at RPT Headquarters on the First Day of Filing due to a scheduling conflict.
  • CLOSED – Wednesday November 27th – Friday November 29th
  • Saturday December 7th 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Monday December 9th 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Last Day to Apply for a Ballot by Mail (request must be received, not merely postmarked ): Friday, February 21, 2020

Voting by Mail

To be eligible to vote early by mail in Texas, you must:

  • Be 65 years or older. You may apply for a ballot for an individual election or for an annual application which will apply for the remainder of the voting year
  • Be disabled. You may apply for a ballot for an individual election or for an annual application which will apply for the remainder of the voting year
  • Be out of the county on election day and during the period for early voting by personal appearance
  • Or be confined in jail, but otherwise eligible.
