Late Sunday evening, Texas House lawmakers passed HB 1 and took an important step to finalizing a budget that will be balanced and fiscally responsible

Chairman Munisteri announced that the event was the most financially successful fundraiser of this type in many years for the RPT. To date, the event has raised $197,400.
The bill will be back on the House floor for debate tomorrow morning, Wednesday 3/23 at approximately 10:30am
In the Texas House, at the time of this communication the bill is co-sponsored by 83 Republican legislators, and more are expected by Monday.
Although we face some staff challenges and fundraising is always a constant concern, I believe the party overall is on an upswing.
Governor Dewhurst deserves much of the credit for erasing the RPT's deficit and establishing the RPT on sound financial footing.
