The State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) first quarterly meeting was held in Austin on March 31, 2012 at the RPT headquarters and preceded by SREC committee meetings which were held on Friday, March 30th.

RPT would like to extend our wishes for a speedy recovery to SREC committeewoman Jean McIver, who suffered a traumatic accident this weekend.

Information regarding changes to the allocation of delegates to the Republican National Convention, an update on SREC discussions on proposed Legislative Reports, Resolutions, featured guests and more.

In response to rules changes made by the Republican National Committee affecting delegate selection, the RPT Leadership has worked together to draft a proposed rule change to be presented for a vote at the next quarterly SREC meeting.

Our workshop focused on getting ready for Victory 2012 and how to prepare the grassroots volunteers for the onslaught of Obama media and activists from the left invading our state in the next year.

Yesterday evening, Governor Rick Perry added the TSA anti-groping legislation to the special session call, and the Texas Legislature will again take up this topic for consideration as early as Friday, June 24th.

I feel it is crucial for our Party's success in next year's elections that we end the legislative session as strongly as we began. It is imperative that the Party pass all of our legislative priority items.
