Congressman Paul Ryan to Deliver Keynote Address to the 2012 Texas GOP Convention in Fort Worth
The Republican Party of Texas is pleased to announce that we have confirmed Republican Congressman Paul Ryan as one of our featured speakers at the 2012 Texas GOP Convention on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
Congressman Paul Ryan is serving his 7th term in Congress representing the 1st District of Wisconsin and also serves as the Chairman of the House Budget Committee, where he works to bring fiscal discipline and accountability to the federal government. He is a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, which has jurisdiction over tax policy, Social Security, health care and trade laws. Paul has put forward a specific plan to tackle our looming fiscal crisis, driven by the explosion of entitlement spending. “The Path to Prosperity” helps spur job creation today, stops spending money the government doesn’t have, and lifts the crushing burden of debt. This plan puts the budget on the path to balance and the economy on the path to prosperity.
Chairman Munisteri stated, "I am grateful to Congressman Ryan for agreeing to speak at our State Convention on June 9th. His leadership on shrinking the size of government and cutting federal spending aligns well with the platform of the Republican Party of Texas. I look forward to welcoming him to Fort Worth and our State Convention! I would also like to extend a special thanks to Republican National Chairman Reince Priebus who was instrumental in arranging for Congressman Ryan to appear."
The 2012 Texas GOP Convention is scheduled for June 7-9 at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Registration is already open for delegates and alternates at convention.texasgop.org.
