The State Republican Executive Committee met for their second quarterly meeting on Friday, June 7th and Saturday, June 8th.
The 2012 RPT State Convention has been scheduled for June 7-9 in Fort Worth, TX at the Fort Worth Convention Center. More details will be forthcoming in upcoming weeks and months. In May, the RPT held a very successful fundraiser at the magnificent home of Harlan Crow, in his unparalleled library. The RPT welcomed 50 guests to the evening's events and raised nearly $42,000.
The Republican Party of Texas is fortunate to have generous donors who support our efforts of building the party organization, running the primary election, assisting candidates, activating volunteers and registering voters – all to promote Republican principles of supporting a limited government that trusts individuals to the best stewards of themselves and each other.
On May 29th, the Republican Party of Texas hosted a Town Hall meeting with Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus. The meeting was attended by 252 party activists from across the state, all who traveled to Houston to learn more about the Growth and Opportunity Project.
Ray Anderson Barnhart was State Chairman of the Republican Party during a critical juncture of the party’s history. Elected in 1977, he served throughout the 1978 general elections which resulted in the election of the first Republican governor since reconstruction, Bill Clements.
